METRO MANILA, Philippines — Hinilíng ni Senate Majority Floor Leader Francis Tolentino kay Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo na magpatulong sa International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) sa pagdadalá ng mga supplies sa mga tropang Filipino sa BRP Sierra Madre sa Ayungin Shoal.

Kasunód na rin itó nang tumitindíng tensyón sa West Philippine Sea (WPS), partikular na sa pagsasagawâ ng resupply mission sa Ayungin Shoal.

Inilahád ni Tolentino ang kanyan kahilingan kay Manalo sa pamamagitan ng sulat na pinadalá niyá isáng araw matapos ang panibagong insidente ng paggamit ng puwersa ng China Coast Guard sa isang Philippine Navy resupply vessel.

“The ICRC, under the Geneva Convention, can facilitate the necessary humanitarian aid to our Navy personnel living in BRP Sierra Madre and would pave the way for delivering the needed food supplies by our soldiers therein,” sabi pa ni Tolentino.

Dagdág pa niya, panahón na rin para maghain ng kaso ang Pilipinas laban sa China sa International Tribunal dahil sa panggigipít sa mga tropang militár at mangingisdang Filipino.

Ayon pa kay Tolentino, iláng pandaigdigang batás na ang nilalabág ng China, tulad ng international humanitarian law, international human rights law, at ang United Nations Convention on the Law of Sea (UNCLOS).
