METRO MANILA, Philippiness — Pinabantayán ng Philippine Navy (PN) sa isá nitóng barkó ang dalawang Chinese Navy ships sa pagdaán ng mga itó sa Basilan Strait, ayon sa pahayág nitóng Biyernes ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Natuklasán ng Naval Forces Western Mindanao kahapóng Huwebes ang dalawang Chinese ships — isang training ship at isang amphibious transport ship — na nasa Basilan Strait sa ilalim ng Zamboanga Peninsula.

Agád na ipinadalá ang BRP Domingo Deluna (PG-905), isang fast attack interdiction craft (FAIC) at binantayán nitó ang dalawang banyagang barkó.

Bahagì ng standard operating procedures (SOP) ang “radio challenge” kayát ginawâ itó ng BRP Domingo Delunal. Tumugón namán ang QI Jiquang (BN-83) at sinabing nakikiraán lamang sila mulâ sa Timor Leste at patungo na silá sa Dalian, China.

Ang Basilan Strait ay kinikilalang “international sea lane” at pinapayagan ang “innocent passage” ng mga sasakyang-pandagat ng ibáng bansâ.
