METRO MANILA, Philippines — Tinanggap ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., ang pagbibitiw sa posisyon ni National Police Commission (Napolcom) Commissioner Edilberto Leonardo.

Ayon ito kay Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cesar Chavez sabay pagkumpirma sa unang inanunsiyo ni Napolcom Vice Chairman Alberto Bernardo noong ika-11 ng Oktubre.

Iniuugnay si Leonardo sa pagpatay sa tatlong Chinese drug convicts sa Davao Penal Farm noong 2016 at sa pananambang kay dating Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Board Secretary Wesley Barayuga noong 2020.

Itinanggi na ni Leonardo ang dalawang alegasyon.

Itinalaga si Leonardo sa Napolcom ni noon ay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ilang buwan bago matapos ang termino ng huli noong 2022.
