METRO MANILA, Philippines — Hindi isyu kay Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go ang pagkakaalis sa pinamumunuan niyang Committee on Health ang pag-iimbestiga sa nabunyag na Bell-Kenz Pharma issue.

Sa plenaryo, inilipat ng Committee on Rules sa blue ribbon committee ni Sen. Pia Cayetano ang iimbestigasyon ng tinawag na “pharma networking scandal.”

Nagpahayag na lang din ng kanyang suporta si Go sa patuloy na pags-iimbestiga sa isyu sabay giit na may obligasyon ang gobyerno na pangalagaan ang integridad ng public health system at tiyakin na sumusunod sa ethical standards ang lahat ng medical professionals.

“Walang masamang kumita, but not at the expense of people’s health. Unahin natin ang kapakanan ng mga pasyente, especially poor and indigent patients — interes ng tao, interes ng bayan, at ano ang katotohanan,” diin ng senador nitong Miyerkules.

Sa naisagawang unang pagdinig sa isyu noong Abril 30, hiniling na ni Go sa Department of Health (DOH), Food and Drug Administration, Professional Regulation Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission, at Philippine Competition Commission na imbestigahan din ang mga alegasyon laban sa Bell-Kenz Pharma.
