DSWD naglunsad ng programa kontra teenage pregnancy

Layon ng ProtecTEEN project ng DSWD na maiwasan ang maagang pagbubuntis ng mga kabataan at bigyan proteksyon na rin ang mga batang ina.

Inilabas na ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang guidelines sa pagpapatupad ng programa na ang layon ay maiwasan ang maagang pagbubuntis sa mga kabataan.

Sinabi ni Social Welfare Assistant Secretary for Disaster Response Management Group Irene Dumlao layon din ng  Psychosocial Support and Other Interventions for Adolescent Mothers and their Families Project (ProtecTEEN) na mabigyan ng suporta ang mga batang ina maging ang kanilang pamilya.

“This project is the department’s response to Executive Order 141, series of 2021, adopting as a national priority the implementation of measures to address the root causes of the rising number of teenage pregnancies and mobilizing government agencies, and part of the Social Protection Program for Adolescent Mothers and their Children (SPPAMC),” ayon pa kay Dumlao.

Paliwanag niya layon din ng proyekto na bigyan proteksyon ang karapatan ng mga batang ina maging ang kanilang pamilya.

“It also aims to improve the capacity of teenage mothers to perform their expected duties as parents of their children through the provision of direct social services and assistance, referral to other concerned agencies, and organizing peer advocates,” dagdag pa niya.
