Sinabi ni Finance Secretary Ralph Recto na ang makasaysayang mababang unemployment rate sa pagtatapos ng 2023 ay senyales nang pagdami at pagganda ng trabaho sa bansa.

We are more optimistic about providing more quality jobs for our people as the Marcos, Jr. administration rolls out the red carpet for investors to enter the country. In tandem, we will prioritize empowering our workforce through substantial investments in human capital development. This will enhance their preparedness for high-quality employment opportunities,” ani Recto.
Iniulat ng Philippine Statistics Office na bumaba sa 3.1% ang unemployment rate na pinakamababa simula 2005.
Ayon pa kay Recto lumabas na sa kabuuang ng 2023, 4.3% ang unemployment rate na mas mababa pa sa target ng gobyerno na 5.3% hanggang 6.0% at pasok na sa 4.0% hanggang 5.0% target sa 2028 base sa Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028.
Sinabi ng kalihim na marami pang isinusulong na istratehiya ang gobyerno para mapagbuti ng husto ang kondisyon ng mga trabaho sa bansa.
“Quality jobs need to be created in sectors with current labor supply constraints, as well as in other higher value-added sectors like BPO, IT, construction, accounting, and healthcare, among others,” dagdag pa ni Recto.
