Maharlika Investment Fund hindi sinuspindi – Pangulong Marcos Jr.

Ikinabigla ni Pangulong  Marcos Jr. sa mga ulat na sinuspindi niya ang pagkasa ng Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF) law.

Sa kanyang talumpati bago tumulak patungong Saudi Arabia, nilinaw ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., na target pa ng kanyang administrasyon na simulan nang pakinabangan na ang MIF bago matapos ang kasalukuyang taon.

“I was a bit alarmed by the news reports early this morning that I read in the newspapers that we have put the Maharlika Fund on hold. Quite the contrary. We are, the organization of the Maharlika Fund proceeds apace, and what I have done though, is that we have found more improvements we can make, specifically to the organizational structure of the Maharlika Fund, the concept of the Maharlika fund as a sovereign fund, an investment fund, the concept remains a good one and we are still committed to having it operational by the end of the year, “aniya.

Dagdag pa niya: “So we should not misinterpret what we have done as somehow as a judgment of the rightness or wrongness of the Maharlika fund. On the contrary, we are just finding ways to make it as close to perfect and ideal as possible, and that is what we have done.”

Una nang naglabas ng memorandum ang Office of the Exevutive Secretary sa Department of Finance, Land Bank of the Philippines at Development Bank of the Philippines na suspendihin na muna ang implementasyon ng MIF dahil pinatitiyak ni Pangulong Marcos na may sapat na mga safeguards ito.

Nasa P50 bilyon ang inilagak na puhunan ng Land Bank habang P25 bilyon naman sa DBP
