Jakarta, Indonesia – Nagkasundo sina Pangulong Marcos Jr., US Vice President Kamala Harris at Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida na tugunan at baguhin ang status quo sa South China Sea.
Nabuo ang kasunduan sa informal meeting ng tatlo kagabi sa gala dinner sa 43rd Association of Southeast Asian (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits na ginaganap sa Jakarta, Indonesia. Ayon kay Kishida, sang-ayon ang Japan sa panukala nina Pangulong Marcos Jr., at Harris na tugunan ang naturang problema. “Prime Minister Kishida exchanged views with President Marcos and Vice President Harris on the current situation surrounding the South China Sea, and concurred with them to jointly tackle unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force. Prime Minister Kishida, President Marcos and Vice President Harris confirmed that the three countries would continue to promote the further strengthening of coordination among Japan, the U.S., and the Philippines in various ways,” pahayag ng Japan.
