Abalos sinabing puwede pang asuntuhin ang dating pulis sa Rotonda road rage

Kahit nagkaroon na ng kasunduan ang dalawang partido, sinabi ni Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos na maari pa ring sampahan ng mga kasong kriminal ang dating pulis na nagbanta sa isang siklista.   Ayon kay Abalos, na isang abogado, may mga pagkakataon na maaring masampahan pa rin ng mga kasong kriminal ang isang suspek kahit tumanggi na ang biktima na magsampa ng pormal na reklamo.   “Even if the victim won’t testify, criminal cases can still be filed if another witness comes forward. For example, the person that took the viral video, or other bystanders during the incident, can establish that they were at the scene, and identify the perpetrator and the acts that he committed. At the very least, a case for alarm and scandal could be filed,” sabi ng kalihim.
  Aniya babantayan niya kung paano hahawakan ng pambansang-pulisya ang naturang insidente.   “In case of any inaction by the PNP’s handling officers, the PNP’s Internal Affairs Service would investigate. The Napolcom may step in, if warranted. In any case, rest assured that the Napolcom will do its utmost to pursue the cause of justice,” ani Abalos, na siya din namumuno sa National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM).
  Dagdag pa nito, hindi dapat hayaan ang mga “bully” sa lipunan gaya na lamang ng inasal ni Wilfredo Gonzales sa Welcome Rotonda, Quezon City noong Agosto 8.
