Naniniwala si Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri na walang masamang intensyon si Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco sa kontrobersyal na “Love the Philippines” promotional video.
Ngunit ayon kay Zubiri dapat ay seryosohin ni Frasco at ng buong kagawaran ang pangyayari at papanagutin ang mga sumablay sa video, naghatid sa alanganin sa imahe ng Pilipinas at mga Filipino.
Inulan ng batikos ang Department of Tourism (DOT) nang gumamit ng “stock videos” sa campaign video para sa bagong tourism slogan ng bansa.
“We all should come together in support of the country and of our tourist destinations, which could be considered at par with other world-class attractions. We need to support the DOT and our tourism stakeholders even more this time, as we need to infuse into our country the needed billions of dollars brought in by tourists from all over the world,” sabi ni Zubiri.
Samantala, sinabi ni Sen. Sonny Angara na hindi dapat maisantabi ng kontrobersiya ang mga nagawa ni Frasco sa industriya ng turismo sa bansa.
Aniya may mga napatunayan naman na ang kalihim dahil bumubuti na muli ang turismo sa bansa matapos malugmok ng pandemya.
“What the DOT has done over the past two years following the pandemic has been remarkable and with Sec. Frasco leading the charge in declaring the Philippines open for tourists, I am confident that Philippine tourism will be able to reach new heights and the world will see the many reasons to Love the Philippines,” ayon kay Angara.
