DA, Korean agri coop nagkasundo sa Malakanyang

Lalo pang palalakasin ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., ang sektor ng agrikultura sa bansa.
Sinaksihan ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ang ceremonial signing ng Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperative Partnership Agricultural Machinery sa pagitan ng Department of Agriculture at Korea Agricultural Machinery Industry Cooperative (KAMICO).
Layunin ng MOU na pagbutihin ang produksyong pang-agrikultura at seguridad ng pagkain sa bansa.
Nakapaloob din sa MOU ang pagbuo ng agricultural machinery manufacturing cluster, research and development of agricultural machinery technology, pagsasanay ng mga manggagawa sa agricultural machinery technology at Official Development Assistance (ODA) para sa iba pang mga proyekto.
Nasa $30 milyong halaga ng inisyal na puhunan ang gagamitin para sa unang yugto ng proyekto, habang tatlong beses naman nito ang nakalaan para sa susunod na bahagi.
“We all recognized very clearly the importance of mechanization for our country because we are trying to move the production, we are trying to make sure that at least the local supply for rice is sufficient and, of course, hopefully, also the other crops,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
“The key to all of this is mechanization and all of the things that we’re trying to do. We have some programs to mechanize. We have the RCEF program, in which the collections from the tariffs on rice importations are then applied also to mechanize,” dagdag pa nito.
