Nilagdaan ni Pangulong Marcos ang appointment ni Torres noon pang Marso 19, 2023.
Nakilala si Torres sa kanyang investigative reporting pati na ang coverage sa Abu Sayyaf Group.

Nagsilbi rin si Torres bilang managing editor ng Bangkok-based na Union of Catholic Asian News at naging editor-at-large ng LiCAS.news at editorial board ng Radio Veritas Asia oong 2018.
