Davos, Switzerland—Walang nakikitang rason si Pangulong Marcos Jr. para magtayo ng armory ang Pilipinas.
Tugon ito ni Pangulong Marcos sa tanong kung gagayahin ng Pilipinas ang Japan na dinoble ang budget ng kanilang defense department.
Sa one-on-one dialogue ni Pangulong Marcos kay World Economic Forum president Børge Brende sinabi nito na hindi kailanman solusyon ang militar sa anumang problema.
“Well, I think to an extent but not — because the belief is that first of all, there is no point the Philippines building up its armory. First, we are not in a economic situation that we are able to build up to the levels that the Americans had, to the levels that the Chinese have and more importantly perhaps is our abiding belief that the solutions are not going to be military,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Ayon sa Pangulo, wala sa posisyon ang Pilipinas para magtayo ng armory.
