Itinalaga ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., si Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconcilliation and Unity Secretary Carlito Galvez bilang bagong kalihim ng Department of National Defense (DND).
Pinalitan ni Galvez Jr., si Sr. Usec. Jose Faustino Jr., na nagsilbing officer-in-charge ng kagawaran simula nang maupo si Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Kinumpirma ng Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) ang pagbibitiw ni Faustino at pagtatalaga kay Galvez Jr.
“It is with deep regret that the President has accepted the resignation of DND OIC Sr. Usec. Jose Faustino Jr. The President has offered the position of DND Secretary to Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. and he has accepted,” ani OPS OIC Usec. Cheloy Garafil.
Ang pagbibitiw ni Faustino Jr., ay sumunod sa pagbabalik bilang AFP chief of staff ni Gen. Andres Centino, na lumikha ng alingasngas.
