Nagsagawa ng lightning rally ang Asian Peoples Movement on Debt and Development (APMDD) Solaire Resort and Casino sa Pasay City.
“Fossil gas and LNG emit harmful air pollutants even before they are burned and burning fossil gas produces greenhouse gases especially methane. Methane has more than 80 times the warming power of carbon dioxide over the first 20 years after it reaches the atmosphere. Promoting LNG as transition fuel is deceptive and dangerous. We call on the companies attending the summit to stop investing in gas and LNG projects,” pahayag ni Nacpil.
“LNG is not welcome here! It is not a transition fuel. We are reeling from the devastation of Typhoon Karding, and here you are investing in global warming, which will cause the death of people and the planet. We want investments in clean and renewable energy,” pahayag naman ni Ian Rivera, National Coordinator of the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice (PMCJ).
Lord Allan Velasco at Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla.
