Naniniwala si Senator Leila de Lima na dapat ibang panel of prosecutors ang muling bumusisi ng kanyang drug cases.
Katuwiran niya hindi magbabago ang posisyon ng mga prosecutors kung ang mga ito pa rin ang magsasagawa ng review sa kabila ng pagbaligtad ng ilan sa mga pangunahing testigo na iniharap laban sa kanya.
Una nang sinabi ni Justice Sec. Menardo Guevarra na inabisuhan na ang mga prosecutors na ituloy ang mga kasong kinahaharap ng senadora.
“The panel of prosecutors has advised that after a thorough review of the evidence already presented as well as evidence still has to be presented, there is a good reason to continue the active prosecution of the senator,” sabi ni Guevarra.
Una nang binawi ni dating Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) director Rafael Ragos ang lahat ng mga testimoniya partikular na ang pagdala niya ng P10 milyon kay de Lima noong 2012.
Sumunod na bumaligtad si Ronnie Dayan, dating aide ni de Lima.
“If the review was done by the same DOJ Panel of Prosecutors whom Ragos said were perfectly aware that his testimony was just manufactured and all lies, then the review is worthless. The review should be undertaken by prosecutors who are not tainted by Ragos’s accusation of participating in the manufacture of evidence,” ayon sa kampo ng senadora.
