Nagsagawa ng mga operatiba ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ng surprise raid sa mga detainee sa Warden Facility sa Taguig, Biyernes ng madaling-araw, February 4.
Isinagawa ang ‘Greyhound Operation’ ng pamnuan ng BIWF management, mga opisyal ng BI Intelligence Division at BI Anti-Terrorist Group, katuwang ang National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Intelligence Division, PNP Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) at PNP NCRPO – Regional Mobile Force Battallion (RMFB).
Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, bahagi ang naturang raid ng serye ng mga random surprise inspection upang matiyak na mananatiling drug-free ang pasilidad.
“This shakedown is long overdue, as the last raid that we conducted done a year ago,” said Morente. “Such raids are also done to ensure that there is no special treatment in PDL,” dagdag nito.
Ilan sa mga nakumpiskang kagamitan ay mga gadget tulad ng tablet at cellphones, alak, gamit pangsugal, kutsilyo, gunting at iba pang matatalim na gamit, at screwdrivers, hammers, at pliers.
“While the facility is not a jail, the use of gadgets is regulated. Gambling paraphernalia are not allowed, and sharp objects are prohibited to prevent any untoward incidents,” ani Morente.
