Nanawagan ang PASAHERO Partylist ng istriktong pagpapatupad ng 20 porsiyentong diskuwento sa pasahe ng mga pambansang atleta, gayundin ng coaches.
Paalala ni Atty. Homer Alinsug, ang tagapagsalita ng PASAHERO Partylist, nakasaad sa RA 10699 o ang National Athletes and Coaches Benefits and Incentives ang naturang diskuwento sa domestic land, air, sea transport fares.
“We wish to remind all public utility operators that they are mandated to grant national athletes and their coaches a 20 percent discount, which is the same privilege given to senior citizens, persons with disabilities and students under separate laws,” paliwanag pa ni Alinsug.
Ibinahagi nito na nakakatanggap sila ng mga reklamo ukol sa pagtanggi ng marami na bigyan ng diskuwento sa pasahe ang mga pambansang atleta .
Ito aniya ay maaring bunsod na rin ng marami ang hindi nakakaalam sa naturang batas.
“The 20 percent discount is a much deserved privilege for our national athletes and coaches in recognition of their invaluable contributions in bringing honor and pride to the country,” diin pa ng tagapagsalita ng PASAHERO o Passengers and Riders, na kabilang sa kinilalang partylist groups ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) para sa papalapit na eleksyon.
Bukod sa diskuwento sa pasahe, sinabi din ni Alinsug na kinakailangan din na bigyan ng katulad na diskuwento ang mga pambansang atleta sa accomodations sa hotel, resort at iba pang lodging establishments, gayundin sa pagkain.
“There has to be an intensified information drive about this so that our national athletes and coaches can fully enjoy the benefits and privileges that they are entitled to under the law,” dagdag pa nito.
