Malaking kalokohan para kay Senator Leila de Lima na naibigay ang kontrata para sa election paraphernalia at counting machines sa isa sa mga pinakamalaking campaign contributor ni Pangulong Duterte.
Sinabi ni de Lima na maituturing na ‘biggest crony’ ng Punong Ehekutibo si Dennis Uy, na aniya ay halos hindi kilala sa mga nangongotrata sa gobyerno, ngunit bigla na lang itong sumikat pag-upo ni Pangulong Duterte.
Dagdag pa ng senadora na patunay dito ang malalaking kontrata, kabilang na ang Malampaya oil and gas field contract, na nakuha ni Uy.
“There is therefore reason to believe that Dennis Uy’s interests are also Duterte’s. The two are most likely business partners, or worse, Dennis Uy is Duterte’s dummy in the plunder of public funds through the irregular acquisition of government contracts. This is crony capitalism at its worst,” diin ni de Lima.
Dapat aniya hindi lang umasa ang Comelec sa kawalan ng batas na dapat nagbabawal sa mga campaign donors na sumali sa bidding sa election contracts.
“This goes to the most fundamental, most elementary and even the most commonly understood meaning of the word fair in the phrase ‘fair elections.’ The Comelec crying about an ‘absence of law’ is a Comelec that has either forgotten or forsaken its mandate under the Constitution,” ayon pa sa senadora.
