Katuwiran ni Lacson nais niyang mag-focus sa gagawing pagbusisi sa hinihinging P5.024 trillion 2022 national budget ng Malakanyang, gayundin sa mga naging obserbasyon ng Commission on Audit (COA) sa paggasta ng pondo ng ilang ahensiya.
Diin nito, ang mga naisapublikong obserbasyon ng COA ay patunay lang ng maling paghawak, paggasta o pang-aabuso sa pondo ng bayan.
“I trust that it is to the greatest interest of our people to once and for all, ferret out the truth behind these reports, put value to the oft ignored mandate and ensure that will be no ‘sacred cows’ in making accountable, those who have blundered the effective and proper use of public monies,” ang isinaad ni Lacson sa kanyang sulat kay Senate President Vicente Sotto III.
Nakilala si Lacson sa kanyang pagbusisi at paghimay sa paggamit ng pondo ng mga ahensiya ng gobyerno.
At bilang Chairman ng Sub Committee C, siya ang nagpapaliwanag sa mga taunang pondo ng Department of Information and Communications Technology, Department of National Defense, Commission on Human Rights, Dangerous Drugs Board, Mindanao Development Authority, Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Presidential Legislative Liaison Office at Southern Philippines Development Authority.
