Napauwing distressed Filipinos mula UAE, umabot na sa 3,000

Nakapagpauwi na ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) ang kabuuang 3,000 distressed Filipinos mula sa United Arab Emirates.

Kasunod ito ng pagdating ng ika-pitong special chartered flight mula sa UAE simula nang magkaroon ng pandemya.

Linggo ng umaga, July 18, nasa 359 overseas Filipinos, kabilang ang 112 buntis at 12 persons with disabilities, ang dumating sa Davao International Airport.

“We are working double time to make sure our kababayans in distress get the much-needed repatriation the soonest. Pregnant women, PWDs and those with special needs are given due consideration to expedite their return home,” pahayag ni Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs Sarah Lou Arriola.

Maliban sa return flight ticket, libreng ibibigay ng gobyerno ang quarantine facility at swab test.

Makakatanggap din ang lahat ng repatriates ng P10,000 o USD200 na reintegration assistance, alinsunod sa kautusan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at rekomendasyon ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr.
