Ang price ceiling ay magtatapos bukas.
Ngunit, sinabi ni Dar simula naman sa darating na Biyernes, Abril 9, magpapatupad na ng suggested retail price (SRP) sa imported pork.
“The price cap ends tomorrow, April 8, and there will be no extension but we have decided based on various consultations with stakeholders, and DTI and others, that we will impose a suggested retail price for imported pork,” ang anunsiyo ng kalihim.
Aminado si Dar na hindi naman mareresolba ng price ceiling ang isyu sa presyo ng karne ng baboy sa bansa.
Ang SRP sa imported pork ay P270 sa bawat kilo ng kasim at P350 naman sa liempo at ito ay hindi ipapataw sa lokal na karne ng baboy.
“Ang bottomline pa rin ay supply.So, if the problem is supply, we have measures that are being proposed. The mobilization of hogs from provinces, that’s just one of them, the increase of minimum access volume is another, lowering of tariff is another. So it is a holistic set of measures that can really bring down the prices and tame inflation,” paliwanag pa nito.
