Dumating na sa Pilipinas ang unang batch ng train cars para sa LRT- 1 Cavite Extension Project, araw ng Martes (January 26).
Ayon sa Department of Transportation (DOTr), nasa 120 train cars ang dumating sa bansa mula sa Spain at Mexico.
Sa arrival ceremony, inihayag ni DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade kung paano itinulak ang transport infrastructure project sa ilalim ng Duterte Administration.
“19 years ago, this project was started. So, under the Duterte Administration, we pushed and pushed hard. That is why today, we see the steps of the whole realization of this project–partial operability within this year, by accepting the trains and the cars,” ani Tugade.
Dagdag pa ng kalihim, “The Duterte administration is making sure that the promises made 19 years ago will materialize, will certainly materialize, and will truly materialize.”
Samantala, nangako naman si Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines H.E Kazuhiko Koshikawa ng buong suporta sa mission at vision ng administration at ng kagawaran.
Oras na makumpleto ang proyekto, inaasahang magkokonekta ang railway line sa Baclaran at Bacoor, Cavite.
Mula sa dating 1 oras at 10 minuto, magiging 25 minuto na lang ang biyahe mula Baclaran hanggang Bacoor, Cavite.
