Ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), ang Pinay na pinangalanang “Marissa” ay kasama sa inayos na ika-20 repatriation chartered flight ng Philippine Embassy sa Kuwait patungong Maynila noong November 29.
Sagot ang airfare ng Pinay ng Assistance to Nationals (ATN) Fund ng kagawaran.
Sa kasagsagan ng pag-usad ng kaso, nanatili si Marissa ATN Shelter ng embahada at sa Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Resource Center ng POLO-OWWA.
Sa pamamagitan ng Legal Assistance Fund ng DFA, nabigay ng embahada ang competent counsel para kay Marissa.
“This victory is an example of the government’s continuous efforts and commitment in protecting and promoting the rights of our distressed overseas Filipinos anywhere in the world. After the long wait for justice, we are glad that we are finally bringing her home to reunite with her family and loved ones,” pahayag ni DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs Sarah Lou Arriola.
Noong October 1, 2012, ginahasa si Marissa at sinaksak nang ilang beses sa South Surra Area ni Kuwaiti police officer Lance Corporal Yahiya Mohamad Ahmad Abdullah.
