Ito ay kasunod ng nagbabantang pagtama ng Bagyong Rolly sa bansa.
Nagbaba ng direktiba ang PCG Commandant partikular sa Coast Guard District – Bicol, Coast Guard District – Eastern Visayas, Coast Guard District – Southern Tagalog, at Coast Guard District – Northern Luzon na ihanda ang deployable response groups (DRGs) para matiyak na handa ang mga tauhan at gamit na umasiste sa local government units (LGU) sa pag-rescue sa mga residenteng maaapektuhan ng bagyo.
Kabilang sa DRGs ang expert divers, rescue swimmers, paramedics, at K-9 units.
Samantala, ipinag-utos naman sa PCG personnel na nakatalaga sa mga pantalan na magpatupad ng precautionary measures, maging alerto at tiyaking masusunod pa rin ang IATF quarantine protocols at health regulations.
Sinabihan naman ang mga PCG sub-station personnel na makipag-ugnayan sa local fishing communities na abisuhan ang mga mangingisda na sumunod sa safety guidelines habang may nararanasang bagyo.
Handa na rin ang mga miyembro ng PCG Auxiliary sakaling kailanganin ng dagdag na tulong ng Coast Guard rescue teams.
“Notice to Mariners have been issued to remind vessels that may be affected by the latest weather disturbance to find safer areas to shelter, thereby preventing the recurrence of what happened in Mabini and Bauan, Batangas during the onslaught of Typhoon Quinta where at least ten maritime incidents were monitored and responded by the PCG,” pahayag ni Admiral Ursabia.
Para naman sa mga lugar na hindi maaapektuhan ng Bagyong Rolly, ipinag-utos sa Coast Guard units na istriktong ipatupad ang vessel safety protocols kasunod ng inaasahang pagdami ng mga pasahero kasabay ng Undas sa weekend.
“We have also released an advisory to those who will travel and take the Matnog, Bicol – Allen, Samar and Batangas – Mindoro routes to regularly check the weather forecast as the PCG will strictly implement the ‘No Sail Policy’ during inclement weather,” ani Ursabia.
Dagdag pa nito, “we do not want them to be stranded and converge in port areas and waterways, compromising the prescribed health and safety protocols amid the coronavirus pandemic.”
Patuloy namang tututukan ng PCG Command Center ang maritime operations, maging ang bilang ng mga pasahero at mga sasakyang-pandagat na maaapektuhan ng bagyo.
