Nakataas na sa full alert status ang Philippine National Police (PNP) makaraang itigil ng CPP-NPA-NDF ang pag-iral ng ceasefire kasunod ng COVID-19 crisis.
Ayon kay Police Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac, tagapagsalita ng PNP, 205,000 pulis sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni PNP Chief General Archie Gamboa ang nakahanda para ipagtanggol ang bansa laban sa pag-atake ng mga komunistang grupo.
Kinokondena rin aniya ng PNP chief ang nasabing hakbang ng CPP-NPA-NDF na magiging mapanganib sa aksyon ng gobyerno para masugpo ang COVID-19 pandemic.
Tiniyak pa ni Banac na sanib-pwersa ang pulisya at militar para ipatupad ang mandatong protektahan ang publiko laban sa mga komunistang grupo.
“On top of our duty to implement strict quarantine measures to stop the spread of this pandemic, the PNP assures Filipinos that your police and military are united behind our Commander-in-Chief President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to enforce our mandate to uphold public safety against this communist terrorist group,” pahayag ni Banac.
Patuloy din aniya ang operasyon ng pambansang pulisya sa mga lugar na nakasailalim sa enhanced community quarantine at general community quarantine base sa inilabas na panuntunan ng gobyerno.
“As government condemns this rebellion by the CPP-NPA-NDF as a threat to public safety amid the pandemic; we will continue to uphold the imposition of ECQ in high-risk areas and GCQ in the rest of the country from May 1 to May 15, 2020 based on government guidelines,” dagdag pa nito Banac.
