Ayon kay Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo, inirekomenda ni Education secretary Leonor Briones ang naturang panukala sa cabinet meeting kagabi sa Malakanyang.
Ayon kay Panelo, nangako si Briones na ginagawa na ng DepEd ang lahat ng hakbang para maprotektahan ang interes ng mga estudyante.
“Secretary Leonor Briones of the Department of Education assured that they are committed to protect the interest of students and learners and will be following the advice of the Department of Health, such as issuing advisories for students to avoid huge crowds and discouraging schools to conduct field trips,” ayon kay Panelo.
Nakaangkla rin aniya ang DepEd sa mga abiso na inilalabas ng Department of Health (DOH).
Ayon kay Panelo, pinaiiwas na muna ng DepEd ang mga estudyante sa mga matataaong lugar para makasiguro na hindi tatamaan ng novel coronavirus.
