Naideliver na sa Philippine Airforce ang pinakabago nitong eroplano mula sa Airbus Defence and Space ng Spain.
“From airlifting personnel and logistical supplies to projecting military force as well as providing humanitarian assistance and disaster response, air mobility has been an indispensable capability that the Philippine Air Force provides through the competency of our pilots, crew and the aircraft that we possess,” ani Air Force chief Lt. Gen. Rozzano Briguez.
Nagsagawa ng seremonya araw ng Lunes sa Clark Air Base sa Pampanga para sa bagong eroplano na C295M medium transport plane.
Sinaksihan ni Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana ang handover and blessing ceremony.
Ang bagong Air Force plane ay nagkakahalaga ng P1.8 billion.
Ito ay bahagi ng proyekto para sa modernisasyon ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Karagdagan ito sa tatlo ng operational C295 aircraft ng PAF.
Ang bagong aircraft ay gagamitin ng 250th Presidential Airlift Wing na ginagamit na transportasyon ng pangulo at mga VIP.
Pero gagamitin din ito sa disaster response operation at iba pa gaya ng pagdadala ng relief goods sa mga biktima ng lindol sa Mindanao.
