Nag-isyu ng tsunami alert ang US Geological Survey matapos ang lindol na tumama sa layong 300 kilometers mula sa timog-silangang bahagi ng Kodiak, at may lalim na 10 kilometers, 12:30 ng madaling araw, oras sa Alaska.
Nakataas rin ang tsunami alert sa buong west coast ng US at Hawaii, ayon sa U.S. Tsunami Warning System.
