Dagdag benepisyo sa mga atletang Pinoy, aprubado na
Niratipikahan na ng dalawang kapulungan ng kongreso ang panukalang batas na magbibigay dagdag insentibo sa mga national atheletes, coaches at trainers.
Ayon kay Senador Sonny Angara, chairman ng Senate Committee on Games, Amusement and Sports, panahon na para bigyan ng kaukulang pagkilala ang mga atleta dahil sa karangalang iniuuwi sa bansa.
Sa ilalim ng panukala, makatatanggap ng sampung milyong piso ang gold medalist sa Olympic games, limang milyong piso sa silver at dalawang milyong piso sa bronze medalist.
Para sa Asian games, dalawang milyong piso ang makukuha ng gold medalists isang milyong piso sa silver medalists at 400,000 sa bronze medalists.
Para sa SEA games, 300,000 piso sa gold medalists, 150,000 sa silver medalists at 60,000 sa bronze medalists.
Bibigyan din ng 20 percent discount sa transportasyon, hotels, at iba pang lodging establishments, restaurants, gamot at sports equipment ang mga national athlete, coach at trainer.
Makatatanggap din ng scholarship benefits o libre sa full tuition fees ang mga nanalong national athletes sa state colleges at universities.
“The term ‘national athletes’ should also encompass all athletes including those who are differently-abled. Their limitations did not stand in their way, and we have witnessed how these individuals push the limits to bring pride to the country,” dagdag pa ng senador.
