Pinirmahan na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang panukalang nagdedeklara sa tuwing ika-December 8 bilang isang special non-working holiday.

Sa ilalim ng Republic Act 10966, idinedeklarang walang pasok ang kada December 8 ng bawat taon para sa pag-alala sa Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, na siyang itinuturing na ‘principal patroness’ ng Pilipinas.

Ang naturang panukala ay isinulong ni Majority Floor Leader Rodolfo Fariñas.
