Duterte: Kapalaran ni Mocha sa Senado ipaubaya sa publiko
“Let the people decide.”
Ito ang naging tugon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa mga ugong-ugong tungkol sa posibleng pagtakbo ni Communications Asec. Mocha Uson bilang senador sa 2019 elections.
Ayon sa pangulo, bagaman hindi lahat ng Pilipino ay sang-ayon sa mga sinasabi at ginagawa ni Uson ay wala naman silang magagawa kundi ay respetuhin ito sakaling manalo siya sa halalan.
Matatandaang kabilang si Uson sa mga pinangalanan ni House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez na posibleng tumakbo bilang senador sa ilalim ng Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) Party.
Kabilang sa mga binanggit ni Alvarez na posible ring tumakbo sa ilalim ng PDP-Laban ay sina Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Karlo Nograles, Geraldine Roman, Albee Benitez, at dating Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chair Francis Tolentino.
