Umaasa si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na bibilisan ng dalawang kapulungan ng Kongreso ang pag-apruba sa Bangsamoro Basic Law na matagal nang inihihirit ng mga taga-Mindanao.
Sa departure speech ng pangulo kagabi sa Davao International Airport bago ang official visit sa Japan, sinabi nito na nangako siya sa Moro Islamic Liberation Front at Moro National Liberation Front na magtatayo siya ng several setup na gobyerno.
“We continue to talk and I hope that Congress would expedite its approval,” ani Duterte.
Pinag-aaralan na rin ng pangulo na pagkalooban ang hirit ng mga taga-Mindanao na magkarooon ng sariling teritoryo pati na ang hilig na framework of government.
“I have committed to the main rebellion fronts, the MI pati MN, that we will work for a federal setup and maybe grant them the territories that they want and the kind of framework of governance that they expect with a reformation of all the things in the Philippines,” dagdag pa ni Duterte.
Sinabi pa ng pangulo na kapag hindi naipasa ang BBL, isang panibagong gulo ang mabubuo.
Dahil dito, pursigido ang pangulo na ituloy ang pagsusulong ng kapayapaan sa mga Moro.
“If we do not act on it expeditiously, I think that we are headed for a trouble. We must continue to talk and I will urge Congress to fast-track it because they are getting impatient,” sinabi din ng pangulo.
