TRO sa door-to-door drug testing sa QC, hiling ng mga residente sa korte
Naghain na ng petisyon ang 32 residente sa Barangay South Triangle at Payatas A sa regional trial court ng Quezon City para maglabas ito ng temporary restraining order sa door-to-door drug test na isinasagawa ng mga pulis sa kanila.
Pawang mga abogado mula sa National Union of People’s Lawyers (NUPL) ang kakatawan sa mga nasabing residente na humihiling na ideklarang unconstitutional ang nasabing drug testing sa mga barangay.
Patuloy pa rin kasing ginagawa ng Station 6 sa Batasan at Station 10 sa Kamuning ng Quezon City Police District (QCPD) ang door-to-door drug testing.
Pinangalanan namang respondents sa kaso sina Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director Gen. Ronald dela Rosa, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Oscar Albayalde, QCPD director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, pati na ang station commanders na sina Supt. Pedro Sanchez at Lito Patay.
Base sa mosyon na inihain ng mga residente ng Payatas, pinagfi-fill out umano sila ng survey forms, pagkatapos ay biglang isasailalim sa drug testing sa barangay hall.
Giit ng NUPL, nilalabag ng diskarteng ito ng pulisya ang rights to privacy ng mga residente, pati na ang kanilang rights against unreasonable searches and seizure na ibinibigay ng Saligang Batas.
