Pilipinas, nanawagan sa NoKor na itigil na ang missile tests

Hinimok ni Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano ang People’s Democratic Republic of Korea o North Korea na itigil na nito ang mga planong maglunsad ng mga test launches ng ballistic missile upang maiwasan na ang lalo pang pag-igting ng tensyon sa rehiyon.

Sa talumpati ni Cayetano sa International Conference on ASEAN-Korea Partnership na ginanap sa Seoul, South Korea, sinabi niya na walang ibang maidudulot ang paglulunsad ng ballistic missile test ng NoKor kundi ang pagtaas ng tensyon hindi lamang sa Korean Peninsula, ngunit maging sa ibang bahagi ng Asia-Pacific Region.

Ang pahayag ni Cayetano ay kasunod ng anunsyo ng Pyongyang na masusundan pa ng ilan pang missile
test launch ang nauna nilang inilunsad na intermediate ballistic missile sa airspace ng bansang Japan.

Ayon pa kay Cayetano, patuloy na gagampanan ng Pilipinas at ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations o ASEAN ang tungkulin nito na makamit ang kapayapaan at katatagan ng rehiyon.
