Kumpirmasyon ni Mariano, ipinagpaliban ng CA

Hindi muna inaksyunan ng Commission on Appointments (CA) ang nominasyon ni Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano.

Si Senator Gringo Honasan ang nag-move sa suspensyon ng confirmation hearing matapos mapakinggan ang isang tutol sa kumpirmasyon ni Mariano.

Ayon kay Honasan, maraming impormasyon at isyu na dapat munang resolbahin.

Sa September 5 nakatakda ang susunod na confirmation hearing.

Samantala, nilinaw ni Mariano na kailanman ay hindi siya sumali sa New People’s Army (NPA), ang armadong grupo ng Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) na kalaban ng gobyerno ng halos limang dekada na.

“Hindi po ako naging bahagi ng (CPP-NPA). Hindi po ako nagkaroon ng karanasang nasa underground,” ayon kay Mariano.

Tiniyak naman nito na kanyang tutuparin ang mga tungkulin bilang DAR Secretary habang hinihintay ang pag-apruba ng CA sa kanyang nominasyon.
