P20-M halaga ng pekeng ‘North Face’ bags, nakumpiska sa raid ng NBI
Nakumpiska ng National Bureau of Investigation-National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) ang aabot sa P20 million halaga ng pekeng North Face bags sa isinagawang raid sa Pasay City.
Nagsagawa ng raid ang mga operatiba ng NBI-NCR sa dalawang retail store na matatagpuan sa Stalls A30 at A31, at Stalls B46 at B48 sa Ground Floor ng Baclaran Terminal Plaza Mall sa Taft Avenue Extension.
Bukod dito ni-raid din ang apat na stockrooms na matatagpuan naman sa Sunjoy Tower 1 sa No. 115 Capt. Ambo Street sa Pasay City.
Aabot sa 6,742 na pekeng North Face bags ang nakumpiska ng mga operatiba.
Bago ang raid, nagsagawa na ng surveillance operation ang ilang NBI agent, at bumili din ng produkto para mapatunayan ang mga ebidensya na nakuha ng Onion Support Incorporated, isang market research firm na kumakatawan sa Intellectual Property Rights ng North Face Apparel Corporation sa Pilipinas.
Si Judge Maria Victoria Soriano-Villadolid ng Regional Trial Court Branch 24 ng Maynila ang nagpalabas ng search warrants.
Inihahanda na ngayon ang kasong Trademark Infringement sa ilalim ng Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines o Republic Act 8293 laban sa mga nagmamay-ari ng ni-raid na establisimiyento.
