Ayon kay Northern Mindanao Regional Police spokesperson Superintendent Lemuel Gonda, nagka-engkwentro ang mga rebeldeng NPA at ang joint combat patrol na binubuo ng Bukidnon Provincial Public Safety Company at First Special Forces Battalion ng AFP sa Barangay Concepcion sa Pangantucan, Bukidnon.
Kinilala ang biktima na si PO1 John Herbert Pingol.
Ayon kay Gonda, nagtamo ng gunshot wounds si Pingol sa likurang bahagi ng kanyang katawan.
Aniya, sinubukan pang bigyan ng paunang lunas si Pingol, ngunit hindi na nito nakayanan ang mga natamong sugat.
Ang mga nakasagupang NPA ay mula sa Guerilla Front 68 ng North Central Mindanao Regional Command.
