Kamara, nag-convene para talakayin ang Martial Law report ni Duterte

Nag-convene na ang Kamara bilang Committee of the Whole at sinimulang talakayin ang deklarasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ng Martial Law sa Mindanao.

Si Majority Leader Rudy Fariñas na chairman ng komite ang nagsimula ng hearing sa plenary hall.

Nagdeklara ng quorum matapos tumugon sa roll call ang 135 mula sa 292 na mga kongresista.

Dumalo sa pagdinig ang mga gabinete na sina Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon, Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo at Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial.

Ipinatawag din si Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa.

Sa kanyang opening remarks ay hinimok ni House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez ang mga kapwa mambabatas na huwag ituring ang Martial Law ni Duterte na katulad ng Batas Militar ni dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos kung saan nagkaroon ng mga pag-abuso.

Tiniyak nito na masusing babantayan ng Kamara ang pagpapatupad ng Martial Law.
