15 senador, naghain ng resolusyon na susuporta sa Martial Law declaration ni Duterte
Labinlimang senador ang nagpahayag ng suporta sa pagdedeklara ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ng Martial Law sa Mindanao at ang suspensyon ng privilege of writ of habeas corpus.
Wala anilang matibay na dahilan para i-revoke o bawiin ang Martial Law declaration ng pangulo.
Inihain ng labinlimang senador, na karamihan at mula sa majority bloc, anf Senate Resolution No. 388 na nagbibigay suporta sa Batas Militar ni Duterte.
“The Senate finds the issuance of Proclamation No. 216 to be satisfactory, constitutional and in accordance with the law. The Senate hereby supports fully Proclamation No. 216 and finds no compelling reason to revoke the same,” bahagi ng resolusyon.
Pirmado ang dalawang pahinang resolusyon nina Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto, Majority Leader Vicente Sotto III, at Senators Sonny Angara, Nancy Binay, JV Ejercito, Sherwin Gatchalian, Richard Gordon, Gringo Honasan, Panfilo Lacson, Loren Legarda, Manny Pacquiao, Joel Villanueva, Cynthia Villar, at Miguel Zubiri.
Sina Senators Chiz Escudero at Grace Poe na mula sa majority bloc, ang mga hindi pumirma sa resolusyon.
Nauna nang naghain ng resolusyon ang minorya kahapon na nanawagan sa pamunuan ng Senado na magdaos ng joint session para pag-usapan ang Martial Law.
