CBCP, pabor sa Anti-Distracted Driving Act

CBCPHindi tinutulan ng Conference Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) ang pagbabawal ng religious items, partikular na ang rosaryo, sa dashboard at rear-view mirror ng mga sasakyan.

Ayon kay Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) spokesperson Aileen Lizada, kinonsulta niya si CBCP Secretary General Monsignor Marvin Mejia ukol sa implementasyon ng Joint Administrative Order 2014-01.

Sinabi ni Lizada na hindi usapin para sa CBCP ang pagbabawal ng rosaryo sa dashboard at rear-view mirror  dahil maaari pa rin namang ilagay ang religious items sa loob ng sasakyan.

Paglilinaw ng LTFRB, matagal nang ipinagbabawal ang pagsasabit ng mga rosaryo sa rear-view mirror at ng religious images at ornamento sa dashboards sa ilalim ng JAO 2014-01.

Samanala, ayon kay Lizada, sinabi ni Mejia na suportado ng CBCP ang pagpapatupad ng Anti-Distracted Driving Act para sa kaligtasan ng mga motorista.
