Dismissal ni ex-PNP chief Alan Purisima, pinagtibay ng Court of Appeals
Pinagtibay ng Court of Appeals ang tuluyang pagkaka-dismiss sa gobyerno ni dating Philippine National Police chief Alan Purisima.
Sa tatlumpu’t pitong pahinang desisyon na may petsang May 12, 2017 na inilabas ng Special 16th Division, sa pamamagitian ni Associate Justice Ramon Cruz, ibinasura ng appellate court ang petition for review ni Purisima.
Kasaba pa nito, kinatigan ng Court of Appeals ang dismissal order ng Office of the Ombudsman noong June 2015.
Si Purisima ay sinibak sa puwesto dahil sa umano’y maanomalyang deal sa private courier service firm na WERFAST Documentary Agency.
Nakitaan ng anti-graft body si Purisima at maraming iba pa na guilty sa kasong grave abuse of authority, grave misconduct, at serious dishonesty.
Ayon sa Ombudsman, pumasok ang PNP at WERFAST sa isang deal para sa courier delivery system para sa renewal ng mga baril at lisensya nang walang maayos na procurement, accreditation at qualification process.
Iginiit ng Ombudsman na hindi rehistradong korporasyon ang WERFAST nang pumasok ito sa isang memorandum of agreement sa PNP noong May 2011.
Bukod kay Purisima, ipinag-utos din ng Ombudsman ang dismissal ng mga sumusunod:
– Chief Superintendent Raul Petrasanta, former police chief of Central Luzon;
– Chief Superintendent Napoleon Estilles;
– Senior Superintendent Allan Parreño;
– Senior Superintendent Eduardo Acierto;
– Senior Superintendent Melchor Reyes;
– Superintendent Lenbell Fabia;
– Chief Inspector Sonia Calixto;
– Chief Inspector Nelson Bautista;
– Chief Inspector Ricardo Zapata Jr.; and
– Senior Inspector Ford Tuazon
