Bank secrecy law, iginiit ng BPI hinggil sa mga bank account ni Duterte

Hindi maglalabas ng komento ang Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) kaugnay sa umano’y bank account ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa nasabing bangko.

Sa kanilang inilabas na pahayag sinabi ng BPI na inirerespeto nila ang umiiral na bank secrecy law sa bansa.

“In BPI, we adhere to all relevant and applicable Philippine banking laws and regulations.  We value our clients’ trust and we are bound by the laws on client confidentiality,” bahagi ng kanilang pahayag.

Kaninang umaga ay sinabi ni Sen. Antonio Trillanes na umaabot sa P2.2 Billion lamang ng itinatagong bank account ni Duterte sa sangay ng BPI sa Julia Vargas street sa Ortigas Center sa Pasig City.

Noong panahon ng kampanya ay inilabas ni Trillanes ang nasabing isyu kung saan ay sinagot ito ni Duterte sa pamamagitan ng paglalabas ng waiver para silipin ang kanyang bank records sa BPI.

Bukod sa pangulo, sinabi ni Trillanes na may secret account din ang kanyang mga anak pati na ang common-law wife ng chief executive na si Honeylet Avanceña.
