Pagpapalaya sa isa sa mga akusado sa Maguindanao Massacre, pinagtibay ng Court of Appeals

Pinagtibay ng Court of Appeals ang utos ng Quezon City Regional Trial Court na pansamantalang palayain ng isa sa mga akusado sa Maguindanao Massacre.

Base Sa 10-pahinang desisyon ng CA 16th Division na pinonente ni Associate Justice Marie Christine Azcarrage-Jacob, ibinasura nito ang petition for certiorari na inihain ng mga public prosecutor na humihiling na mabaligtad ang kautusan ng Mababang Hukuman.

Sinabi ng CA na hindi nila nakitaan ng grave abuse of discretion si Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes nang payagan nito si Sajid Islam Ampatuan na makapagpiyansa.

Wala ring nakitang pagkakamali ang appellate court nang hindi paburan ni Judge Solis-Reyes ang testimonya ng dalawang testigo na sina Mohammad Sangki at Police Inspector Rex Ariel Diongon na nagsabing may kinalaman si Sajid sa krimen dahil hindi naman daw sila state witness sa kaso.

Si Sajid na isa sa mga akusado sa Maguindanao Massacre ay dating provincial in charge ng Maguindanao at anak ni Dating Maguindanao Governor Andal Ampatuan Sr.

Pansamantala siyang nakalaya noong March 2015 matapos makapaglagak ng kabuuang 11.6 million pesos para sa 58 counts of murder.
