Abu Sayyaf member na sangkot sa Samal kidnapping arestado

Arestado ang isang hinihinalang miyembro ng Abu Sayyaf Group na sangkot umano sa Samal Island kidnapping sa Talipao, Sulu.

Ayon kay Chief Inspector Norlito Mata, hepe ng Talipao Municipal Police Station, nakilala ang suspek na si Arkam Baridji.

Nabatid na kabilang si Baridji sa bumihag sa tatlong dayuhan at isang Filipina sa isang resort sa Samal.

Kabilang sa mga bihag ay sina Canadian Nationals John Ridsdel at Robert Hall, Norwegian na si Kjartan Sekkingstad, at Pinay na si Marites Flor.

Pinatay ng bandidong grupo sina Ridsdel at Hall matapos mabigo ang kanilang pamilya na magbigay ng ransom.

Kapwa naman na pinalaya na sina Flor at Sekkingstad. Sinabi ni Mata na nagpatupad sila ng security checkpoint sa Sitio Bayog, Barangay Samak kung saan nahuli si Baridji at kasama na si Arnajel Dahim.

Narekober kay Dahim ang isang revolver, mga bala at apat na sachet ng hinihinalang shabu.

Nabatid na may standing arrest warrant si Baridji sa kasong kidnapping at serious illegal detention.
