Bus Rapid System sa Makati CBD, muling isinusulong

Muling inungkat ng mga property owners sa Makati Central Business District (CBD) ang kanilang planong magsulong ng bus rapid transit (BRT) system sa kahabaan ng Ayala Avenue.

Isinumite na ng Makati Commercial Estate Association (MACEA) ang
kanilang panukala sa Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Inanunsyo ito ni MACEA vice president William Coscolluela sa pagbubukas ng Dela Rosa Elevated Walkway Extension mula sa V.A. Rufino patungong Salcedo streets.

Ayon kay Coscolluela, ipinanukala na nila ito sa nagdaang administrasyon ngunit na-hold ito dahil sa planong BRT rin ng pamahalaan para sa Metro Manila.

Ayon naman kay MACEA governor Manuel Blas II, tinatayang aabot ng P800 million hanggang P1 billion ang halaga ng panukalang Makati BRT na kanila namang sasagutin.

Maari rin aniya itong ikonekta sa planong 49-kilometer BRT na inaprubahan na ng National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

Sinabi naman ni Transportation Usec. Anneli Lontoc na “within the alignment” naman ang panukala ng MACEA, ngunit pag-uusapan pa nila sa kung paano ito ipatutupad.

Sa panukala ng MACEA, magkakaroon ng limang nodes o centers – ito ay ang McKinley Exchange, One Ayala sa EDSA, Mandarin hotel sa Ayala Triangle, Buendia City Gate at Circuit Makati – na pagdudugtungin ng mga pedestrian walkways at underpasses.
