Mga opisyal ng ERC, kinasuhan ng katiwalian sa Ombudsman
Inireklamo ng grupong Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas sa pangunguna ng Secretary General nito na si Aya Jallorina ang matataas na opisyal ng Energy Regulatory Commission o ERC sa Ombudsman.
Kabilang sa mga inireklamo sa graft body ay sina ERC Chairman Jose Vicente Salazar at mga commissioners na sina Gloria Victoria Yap-Taruc, Josefina Patricia Magpale-Asirit, Alfredo Non at Geronimo Sta. Ana.
Sinampahan ito ng kasong paglabag sa Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, Grave Abuse of Authority, Grave Misconduct, Oppression at Gross Neglect of Duty.
Ang kaso ay patungkol sa umano’y pitong maanumalyang coal contracts na pinasok ng ERC at ng MERALCO noong November 2015.
Nanindigan ang ABP na midnight deal ang nasabing kontrata na maghahatid ng mataas na singil sa kuryente sa loob ng susunod na 20 taon dahil in-extend ng ERC ang Competitive Selection Process o CSP para mapagbigyan lamang ang pagpasok ng kontrata ng MERALCO.
