Minaliit lamang ni Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo ang ulat na lumalaki ang mga pagkilos at protesta laban sa sa paglilibing kay dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos sa Libingan ng mga Bayani.
Giit ni Panelo, hindi totoong dumarami ang mga nagpoprotesta sa Marcos burial, bagkus ay mayroon lamang mga maiingay na minority group na nagpapahayag ng opinion o damdamin.
Ayon kay Panelo, kinikilala naman ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang nasabing democratic rights na nakapaloob sa Saligang Batas.
Ang tinatawag na clash of ideas ay patunay daw na buhay na demokrasya sa bansa.
“It is not true that there is a growing protest against the burial, what we have is a vocal minority exercising its democratic right to express a grievance allowed and guaranteed by the Constitution. President Duterte is upholding such right. The clash of ideas is democracy in action”, ayon pa sa kalihim.
