Batangas, nagpatupad ng 22 araw na commercial fishing ban sa Balayan Bay

batangas-mapNagpatupad ng 22 araw na commercial fishing ban sa Balayan Bay sa Batangas ang local na gobyerno at ibang ahensya para hayaan ang mga isadang galunggong at matambaka na makapag-replenish.

Ayon sa Batangas Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO) ang naturang ban ay ipapatupad mula November 19 hanggang December 10 sa tulong na 11 coastal municipalities sa lalawigan ng Batangas.

Ang nasabing inter-LGU seasonal closure initiative ay nilahukan ng mga bayan ng Tingloy, Mabini, Bauan, San Luis, Taal, Lemery, Calaca, Balayan, Calatagan, Lian at Nasugbu.

Pormal na inilunsad ng probinsya ang ikatlong seasonal closure noong Biyernes, November 18 sa Nasugbu Beach Park Pavilion.

Una itong ipinatupad noong December 11 hanggang 31, 2014 at pangalawa noong December 5 hanggang 31, 2015.

Kasabay ng naturang closure ang tatlong uri ng fishing gears na purse seine, ring net at bag net ay ipinagbabawal.
