Impartial investigation, ipinangako ng PNP Internal Affairs kaugnay ng pagkamatay ni Espinosa
Ipinangako ni Philippine National Police’s Internal Affairs Service (IAS) chief Deputy Inspector General Leo Angelo Leuterio ang isang independent at impartial investigation kaugnay ng pagkakapatay kay Mayor Rolando Espinosa at Raul Yap sa loob mismo ng Baybay City Sub-Provincial Jail.
Napatay ng mga operatiriba ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group sina Espinosa at Yap na magsisilbi lang sana ng search warrant.
Ayon kay Leuterio, bilang bahagi ng mandato ng IAS, anumang police operation na nagresulta sa pagkamatay ng suspek o person of interest, isang motu-proprio investigation ang otomatikong ilulunsad para imbestigahan ang posibleng administrative liabilities ng police officers sa naturang operasyon.
Siniguro pa ni Leuterio sa publiko na ang IAS ay magsasagawa ng independent at impartial investigation.
Dagdag pa ni Leuterio ay patuloy ang kanilang commitment sa prinsipyo ng professionalized police service at accountability sa publiko at institusyong pinaglilikuran.
